Playing-related injuries (PRI) are among the top occupational hazards that afflict performing artists, which can decrease playing time, cause lost wages, and occasionally end careers. It has been found that upwards of 75% of professional artists will experience a PRI severe enough to affect their playing at some point in their careers.
